Governor Offers Reward for Information on Rowan County Murder

NORTH CAROLINA, September 14 - Today Governor Josh Stein announced that the State of North Carolina is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of 14-year-old Brion Jerome Grier, Jr.   

“We must use every tool at our disposal to pursue justice for victims,” said Governor Josh Stein. “I urge North Carolinians who have information about this case to contact local law enforcement and help us hold Brion’s murderer accountable.” 

On September 27, 2024, the Salisbury Police Department responded to the 300 block of North Fulton Street in reference to a shooting. Officers found Brion Grier suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The teenager had been walking home after playing basketball when he was shot from an unknown vehicle. He was transported to the hospital but died from his injuries.
