Vice-Chair Dane Scalise selected for North Carolina Hunt State Policy Fellows program
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – New Hanover County Board of Commissioners Vice-Chair Dane Scalise has been selected to join the sixth cohort of the North Carolina Hunt State Policy Fellows, a bipartisan program of The Hunt Institute that brings together local elected officials from across the state to work on education policy.
"Strong schools matter to every family in our community, and I'm always eager to find ways to make our local schools even stronger," said Scalise. "I am honored to join fellow leaders from across the state to explore solutions that help students succeed and strengthen opportunities for families in New Hanover County."
Fellows convene for a series of sessions on early childhood education, K-12 systems, postsecondary attainment, and workforce development, working across party lines with resource experts, state agency leaders, legislators, and educators to identify strategies that aim to improve student outcomes.
