SLED Helps Rescue 40 Dogs and Charges Two North Carolina Men with Criminal Conspiracy, Ill Treatment of Animals, and Animal Fighting or Baiting
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Dennis Ray Williams, 69, and Samuel Garen Mobley, 49, with two counts of Criminal Conspiracy, Ill Treatment of Animals, and Animal Fighting or Baiting on Thursday, August 13, 2026. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Williams and Mobley were booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 7th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
